Day #126: Couch to 5K

So, I'm almost one week into the weight loss challenge at work and I have been doing decent on the eating part. It's time to dive into the working out part. Bob and I are going to buy new shoes today for work and the gym (We get an awesome discount AND we can payroll deduct...so it doesn't seem like I'm spending money. Which is awesome). 

Anyways, I download an app for my phone called "Get Running" by Nike. It's similar to the "Couch to 5K" program. Here is an example of how it works:

Week 1 (3 runs): 28.5 minutes of exercise, with 5 to warm-up, 5 to cool down and 8 minutes running. 8 Times: Run 1 minute. Between runs, walk for 1.5 minutes.

Seems doable right? Here's an example of the Couch to 5K program.

  2. I've been thinking about doing this! I'm terrified of running - even at my most fit I can't run for more than a few minutes at a time. But this seems like it really eases you into it - perfect for me!
